Next Event: October 9, 2024
Time: Happy Hour from 6pm – 7pmish
Meeting starts immediately afterwards
Location: The New Frontier Lounge, 301 E 25th St, Tacoma, WA 98421
South Sound 100 has partnered with The Giving Group – an easy and secure way to make your quarterly gift!
Opt-in to make automatic electronic donations. All you have to do is sign-up.
If you don’t want to sign up with The Giving Group, please bring a blank $100 check to the meeting.
Remember that you need to make a $100 contribution to vote and to participate in the Q&A.
We ask that everyone who attends commits to giving $100 to the nonprofit that receives the most votes. Think of your $100 gift as your ticket to vote.
Presenting. In order to place your name, and that of a nonprofit you are passionate about into the basket for an opportunity to present, you must have committed (ideally via The Giving Group) to making a gift each quarter, even if you can’t attend the meeting. Think of your membership as your ticket to present.
Guests. A guest is welcome to attend and learn more about South Sound 100. However if they are not making a membership commitment, they can not vote, present or participate in the Q&A.
At each gathering, we will randomly pick four non-profits and then the nominator will give a brief (less than 5 minute) presentation followed by a brief Q&A.
Members vote on which cause to support. The non-profit that receives the most votes will be awarded $10,000+ in donations ($100 from each of the 100 members).
You did something pretty powerful and amazing.
“We are so grateful for this very generous donation! We have 7,970 girls in our area with high needs and they do not have access to personal hygiene products to use on a daily basis. Each care bag costs approximately $20 and this donation from SS100 will fill 450 care bags!
– Sharon Chambers, Raising Girls
“Thanks to the funding from South Sound 100, we were able to purchase audio equipment to create a recording studio. Youth in incarceration will be able to record poems, songs, and stories under the guidance of recording artists and spoken word poets.”
– Write 253
“We were able to purchase six handheld GPS units, a new litter for carrying injured people–the ones we were using is 15 years old and falling apart–and printers that can print on waterproof paper so rescuers can be sure their maps won’t get ruined if they get wet.”
– Pierce County Search and Rescue
